Sunshine, stand-up, and surprise endings
Gooood morning, Kingston, and happy Monday! The tulips are out, the sunās finally shining, and Canadian Tire just pulled a full glow-up across the street. With pop-up comedy, patio parties, and a disappearing used car lot, this weekās serving plot twists with a side of tacos.

The YGK Mom Poll Results Are In
Motherās Day Dream Gifts:
Turns out, mamas just want one day where theyāre not the ones running the show. Here's how the Motherās Day dream gifts shook out in our poll:
Brunch they didnāt plan, cook, or clean up came in hot and heavy with 53 percent of the votes. Turns out, eggs taste better when someone else makes them.
A quiet coffee or tea (thatās actually hot) earned 13 percent, because sipping in peace is basically a luxury resort experience for moms.
To be left alone⦠lovingly captured 15 percent. Solitude hits different when itās gifted.
A waterfront walk with no whining strolled in with 8 percent ā picturesque and peaceful.
Other dream gifts made up 17 percent, and they did not disappoint: spa days, surprise visits, tattoos, massages, and one bold soul dreaming of a new car (go big or go home, right?).
One respondent shared: āThis Mother's Day is extremely difficult. I lost both of my parents within 8 days of each other.ā To anyone who found yesterday heavy, we see you.
To everyone else: may your coffee still be warm, your leftovers untouched, and your brunch dishes done by someone else.
